Meeting Minutes – February 19, 2009
Meeting was opened by the chair, Debby Stinson.
Roll Call
The following executive committee members were in attendance:

- Alice Lucas
- Roseann Cahoe, Treasurer

- Linda Belcher
- Faith Portman
- Tim Gonterman
Also attending were Doug Walls, Dan Owen, David Strange, and James Southern.
Reading of the Minutes
Following the Pledge of Allegiance, the minutes were read by Shirley Lack. A motion to accept the minutes as read was made by Carolyn Jesse and 2nd by Joe Sohm. The motion was carried.
Treasurer’s Report
Roseann Cahoe reported that we have a balance of $2,125.11 in the account.
Vacancies on Executive Committee
Happy Cahoe made a motion to nominate Jimmy Hamilton and Doug Walls for the committee and was 2nd by Jo Sohm. Tim Gonterman made a motion to nominate James Southern for the committee and was 2nd by Carolyn Jesse. Joe Sohm made a motion to close nominations for the men and was 2nd by Tim Gonterman. All motions carried. Happy Cahoe resigned the committee in order to make room for all new men. Doris Owen made a motion to accept ,by acclimation , all nominations. 2nd by Joe Sohm. Motion carried. Three new Executive Committee members were welcomed— Jimmy Hamilton, Doug Walls, and James Southern. Joe Sohm made a motion to table nominations for 2 women to complete the committee until the nest meeting. 2nd by Faith Portman. Motion carried.
Upcoming Events
The Kid’s Fest will be on March 14th at Paroquet Springs. Joe Sohm made a motion to have a booth . 2nd by Carolyn Jesse. Volunteers to man the booth are, Debby Stinson,Carolyn Jesse, Doug Walls, James Southern, Randy Nalley, and Shirley Lack. We need donations of candy to pass out to the children.
Carolyn Jesse told that Heritage Hills and the Convention Center had been considered for the FDR Dinner. Heritage Hills is too small. The convention center holds 50-80 people at a cost of $25 per person. Doug Walls made a motion to go ahead and arrange for the dinner at the Convention Center. 2nd by Faith Portman. Motion carried.
Public Comment
Linda Belcher talked about her reasons for not voting for the tax increase on tobacco and alcohol. She felt that the tobacco increase did not do enough and that the alcohol increase was not good in light of all the revenue that the distilleries bring to Kentucky. She spent several minutes fielding questions from the members.
Adjournment
A motion to adjourn was made by Joe Sohm. The motion was seconded by Doug Walls and the motion carried.
